Community Fair and Funder Event 24th Nov 2015

On 24th November 2015, PCDT hosted a community fair and funding event at the Wesley Buildings in Redruth for Voluntary organisations, community groups and CICs.  82 delegates came along to the day to hear presentations from a variety of funders and also given opportunity to have a 1-2-1 with a funder and community development workers to get direct support and information they wanted.

A number of community groups exhibited displays about their projects and some gave a five minute soap box slot to inform the audience about the work that they do.  The catering for the day was provided by a local CIC, Whole Again Communities who produce soup using local ingredients and run healthy eating workshops.  Whole again Communities has received support from PCDT Community Development Workers and funding from some of the funders who were present on the day.

Comments from delegates included:

  • "There were a wide range of funders – therefore something for everyone."
  • "Got a wider insight and new information."
  • "Gave me / us lot of ideas & encouragement to move forward."
