Running Race

The Race

The Penwith 5 is a five mile race organised by PCDT to raise money for local charities and community groups.

The race, licenced by UK Athletics, starts in The Wharfside Car Park in Penzance at 10:00 and takes runners on a scenic route to Marazion along the cycle path and back again. The Lord-Lieutenant of Cornwall, Colonel Edward Bolitho OBE will be starting the race, and The Mayor of Marazion, Derek Laity, will be cheering runners on at the half way point.

Anyone aged 15 or over can take part and those who are raising money for charity are asked to support a local charity of their choice.

Sponsorship

Individuals and teams are welcome. Fundraising for a local charity is optional; those who are not fundraising will pay a slightly higher entry fee of £10 compared with £8 for charity runners. A sponsorship form for charity runners can be downloaded from this page.

All the money raised by PCDT will go towards funding Friendline, the new telephone befriending service for West Cornwall. Anyone who is interested in running to raise money for PCDT can contact Jodi Strick, This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. or telephone 01736 334683.

Charity runners are responsible for returning the sponsorship forms and any money raised directly to their chosen charity. Details for returning sponsorship money raised for PCDT can be found below.
